Responsibilities:
|
This environment includes SQL Server 2000 and SQL Server 2005
Perform SQL Server database administration duties within the Network & Database infrastructure team.
Working technical experience with designing, building, installing, configuring and supporting SQL Servers.
Perform database deployments following change management processes.
Expertise with SQL Server performance tuning, optimization and troubleshooting.
Use of monitoring and troubleshooting utilities to effectively diagnose database problems.
Backup and Recover SQL Server databases and plan high availability environment in support of firms’ business continuity strategy.
Strong communication skills essential since this position will interact heavily with both infrastructure and applications teams.
Plan for future storage capacity requirements for both server and database problems.
Document all programs/systems, including system changes and maintenance plans.
Ability to conduct research into database issues, standards and products as required.
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.

Requirements:
|
- BA/BS in Computer Science or a related area.
- Five (5) to ten (10) years of experience in designing and developing complex database solutions.
- 5+ years of experience with ETL tools (SSIS and/or Informatica).
- Experience with the data warehouse lifecycle including building and architecting a DW.
- SQL Server 2005 certification preferred, solid understanding of SQL Server 2005 a must.
- Strong interest in exploring the database architecture field in addition to development
